Players can conjoin to create clans, groups of up to fifty people, who can then participate in Clan Wars together. These clans can help one another by donating and receiving troops and chatting with each other.

Initially available on PC in 2012, Candy Crush Saga is a free-to-play match-three puzzle video game. Players of this app basically complete levels by swapping colored pieces of candy on a game board. This is to make a match of three or more of the same color.

In addition to this simple gameplay, players can also solve puzzles in the game by accomplishing various goals. These puzzles include eliminating pieces of candy of the same color or type. Matches with four or more pieces create unique candies that act as power-ups with larger board-clearing abilities.

Try them Now: 12 Virtual Spooky Halloween Party Ideas this 2021

Written by: Mitch De Guzman

One of the most thrilling holidays of the year is Halloween. The whole world seems to be in a frenzy over it. This year is no exception. But it’s not just about tricks or treating this time since we can’t celebrate it the way we used to. Neither it’s just about the horror movies you can binge-watch this season. The pandemic is still not a reason to miss the fun.

There are plenty of ways you can get into the Halloween spirit without having an actual physical party. With a bit of imagination and a fast internet connection, you can throw the spookiest and most exhilarating virtual Halloween bash this year.

PLANNING FOR A VIRTUAL HALLOWEEN PARTY

Before anything else, you must first come up with a Halloween theme. Planning becomes more effortless if you already have an idea in mind. It can be challenging to visualize how your event will look without one.

It doesn’t have to be about ghosts, zombies, or horror movie characters all the time. You can be as creative as you want. There are no holds barred. A perfect example would be the Squid Game. Due to its popularity, it will undoubtedly become a trend for Halloween this year. But if you don’t like it and can’t think of any, you can always look up Halloween Party themes on the internet. Once you’ve decided on your theme, then you can invite friends and family.

Regardless, we’ve rounded up 12 creative ideas for a virtual Halloween bash to get your imagination flowing. So, keep reading.

The Halloween Decoration Contest

Without the trimmings, no party is complete. Whether it’s a virtual or physical experience, the decor is what brings it all together. If you are a crafty person, it’s your chance to get your creative juices to work. Create spooky decorations like creepy crawlies, fake spiders from clay or dough.

Otherwise, you can get jack-o-lantern, balloon banner, string lights, candy eyeballs, and a variety of party favors from a bookstore or novelty shop.

Even if you don’t have time to decorate, you can still get into the Halloween spirit by using your computer to create virtual Halloween-themed images and video backgrounds. There are a plethora of eerie and spine-chilling photos available online.

Then, to add to the excitement, ask your guests to send you a photo of their Halloween decorations. It should also explain why they believe it is distinctive or exciting. The most creative entry will receive a prize.

The Scary Costume Contest

Next to Halloween decors is the costumes. The most exciting and challenging aspect of this event is dressing up. It is when you can be whoever you want to be – either a character from a movie, a historical figure or a cartoon character. It’s even more thrilling when the other guests don’t recognize you.

You don’t have to buy an outfit since it’s a friendly competition. Instead, make do with what you have, whether it’s old clothes, make-up, or scrap materials. You can create one-of-a-kind attire with a bit of creativity. Red lipstick and magic wands can sometimes do the trick. If you need more ideas, you can look up creative Halloween costume ideas online.

To up the ante, ask everyone to contribute to the prizes for this activity. Then everyone will vote, giving everyone a chance to win. The top three most inventive and terrifying outfits win.

Trick or Treat

What is Halloween without the trick or treaters? Every one of us harbors an inner child who delights in playing. After all, who doesn’t like candies and other special treats? You won’t unless you’re a Scrooge.

While we will still miss the extravagant merry haunting, you can still have spooktacular Halloween festivities online. And no one will sneer if you receive as many treats as you want.

There are two approaches to this. One option is to send treat bags to the guests. Another alternative is to send digital rewards such as gift cards, bonus points, or game credits.

The Halloween Quiz

Taking a quiz is a fun activity. But first, you must come up with ten or more Halloween-related questions. It could be about Halloween history, movies, characters, costumes, candy, or something else entirely. Then, let your visitors respond via a guest book on your website or an online survey tool.

Another version is the Twenty Questions Virtual Party Game. For sure, everybody knows how to play this game. It’s similar to Pinoy Henyo, except that you must guess the correct answer within twenty questions.

Virtual Spooky Spot the Difference

Tell your guests to identify five differences between two pictures of people dressed up for Halloween. Then you send them a link to a Facebook photo album, or you can use your server. Since it is entirely visual and does not require typing skills, it is a good exercise for those unfamiliar with technology.

Pumpkin-Carving Contest

Filipinos aren’t used to carving ghoulish gourds. Perhaps, we would prefer to eat it rather than use it as decoration. Besides, real pumpkins are pretty expensive. However, we enjoy including jack-o-lanterns in our Halloween decorations. It’s one of the event highlights.

There are several ways to enjoy this enjoyable activity. One idea is to give participants decorating kits. The second step is to download  Virtual Pumpkin Carver. It may not be real pumpkins; nonetheless, it is entertaining. You can also hold an online Halloween Pumpkin Carving Contest.

In any case, participants will send photos of their work, and everyone will vote on the most creative pumpkins.

The Spooky Scavenger Hunt

Scavenger Hunt is another fun activity for children and adults alike. To organize the game, make a list of objects and clues ahead of time. You can give the game a spooky spin because it’s Halloween.

Then, divide the players into two or three groups. Begin the game by providing the first clue. Then they can look for the rest of the items on the list on their own. However, set a time limit for the hunt. When the timer expires, count the items collected by each team. The team with the most number of items wins!

Monster Bingo

Who doesn’t enjoy playing bingo? This game never goes out of style. You can personalize it to make it even more entertaining. Instead of numbers, you’ll write questions or fun facts on the squares. It could be a joke among friends, a funny incident, or a reference to a specific person. Creating your unique bingo board is an excellent way to connect with others and build camaraderie.

You can divide the party guests into breakout rooms to play. Participants can answer independently using their memory or personal knowledge. Additionally, they may confer with one another. The first player to fill any consecutive row, column, or diagonal, wins the game.

If you don’t have time to design your bingo card, you can find printable bingo cards online. You can also send the URL of the bingo card generator to the players so they can create their bingo cards.

The Halloween Hashtag Game

You know what a hashtag is, right? This game works through Twitter. Your friends must send their answers and pictures using the hashtag you create. For instance, #OnHalloweenIWore. If you chose this hashtag, you must post a photo of yourself dressed up for Halloween on the host’s Twitter account.

The game has two rounds. First, they guess who the person in the picture is. Then, in the second round, they should think of that person’s Twitter username.

Tell Me Something Scary

Ghost tales are a time-honored tradition of Halloween entertainment. Ask your friends or teammates to share spine-chilling scary stories to spice up your online Halloween party. It could be from personal experience or a famous novel.

Use ominous sounds like howls, hoots, and sobs to make this storytelling activity truly spine-tingling for your audience. Create suspense by shocking your audience as the story unfolds.

If you’re stuck for ideas, you can type keyword frightening stories on the internet.

Halloween Movie Marathon

Whether in fear or laughter, screams and shrieks can set the tone for your virtual Halloween party. One of the holidays with the most TV and film specials is Halloween. Consequently, you have an abundance of resources at your disposal to make your hair stand on end and your heart race.

You can watch shows and movies with your friends through streaming programs such as Netflix Party, Metastream, or Syncplay.

Here are some scary movies that you can watch with your friends.

  • Train to Busan
  • Friday the 13th
  • The Conjuring
  • The Shining
  • The Exorcist
  • The Ring
  • The Sixth Sense
  • Halloween
  • Paranormal Activity
  • Poltergeist

For a seamless and uninterrupted movie viewing experience, you must have a fast and reliable fiber internet connection.

Organize a Halloween Happy Hour

Suppose you don’t have time to plan a big Halloween party; invite friends for a casual Halloween happy hour. No costumes are required. Prepare a bar cart with red wine and party favors like caramel apples, fortune cookies, candy corn, ghost cupcakes, or pumpkin pie.

To set the mood, use your bathroom mirror and put a piece of dry ice behind it. Lighting a few candles can help heighten the eerie atmosphere. Then, play murder mystery games while listening to horror podcasts to get the party started. It would be fantastic if you had an ouija board. If there aren’t any, you can always play the spirit of the glass.

Final Thoughts

Inspire your family and coworkers with these Halloween-themed activities to get them in the spirit of collaboration and creativity. The options are limitless. There is also an enormous resource where you can get more inspiration.

Keep in mind that part of the excitement of Halloween is the buildup. Creating anticipation for your online Halloween party can add to the fun. Begin working on a sly design for your invitations. While haunted houses, graveyards, jack-o-lanterns, full moons, and spider webs contribute to an eerie atmosphere, recording a terrifying video invitation slays it.

Here’s a checklist to help you plan an incredibly spooky and fun virtual Halloween party.

  • Select a platform for your Virtual Halloween Party
  • Send out eerie invitations
  • Create an online registry or a guest book
  • Make a spooky playlist
  • Prepare a menu that includes Halloween-themed food and drinks
  • Choose the most bizarre Halloween background
  • Organize the mechanics of the contest
  • Select a few activities
  • Decide on the prizes

20 Best Horror Movies to Watch This Halloween Season 2021

Written by: Maine Dela Cruz

All of a sudden, we’ve been living through scenes from classic horror movies in the previous year and a half. These include “Contagion” and “The Purge”. In other words, if the current troubles of the real world have fed your anxiety enough for at least the next ten years, that is understandable. And for the rest of us horror fans who just can’t get enough of being scared and shocked by fictitious thrills and chills sometimes, we have horror movies of 2021 to thank for that, because that’s exactly what we need. Of course, we can binge-watch all these easily. Thanks to our fast and unlimited internet connections at home.

With Halloween just around the corner, ghosts and murderers fill our screens, and dramatic music rings in our ears. Horror movies are just so ingrained in our culture especially now. When we live in scary times, filmmakers are driven to create scary movies. And occasionally, they’re really good.

Why Do Some People Find Horror Films Fun?

According to Heidi Mathers, an AP Psychology teacher, what occurs in the majority of people is an arousal of their sympathetic nervous system and activation [to produce] adrenaline. She compared viewing a horror movie to riding a roller coaster, stating that both boost people’s pulse rates and respirations.

The Emotion Theory explains why the horror genre fans enjoy watching horror cinema while others find them disturbing. According to the Emotion Theory, our perception of identical physiological clues might vary depending on the individual. As a result, the majority of people have a quick heartbeat and increased breathing. However, people who adore horror films might equate the film to a roller coaster ride. It’s all about the adrenaline rush.

Best Horror Movies 2021

Halloween is hands-down the greatest time of year for a horror movie marathon. Now, it’s with the best of the year’s 2021 horror film releases. Without further ado, let’s dig in! In no particular order, here are the 20 best horror movies in 2021:

1. Willy’s Wonderland

Directed by Kevin Lewis, this horror film talks about a quiet loner (Nicolas Cage). He finds himself stranded in a remote town when his car breaks down. Unable to pay for the repairs he needs, he agrees to spend the night cleaning Willy’s Wonderland. It is an abandoned family fun center. But this wonderland has a dark secret that this “Janitor” is about to discover. He soon finds himself locked in an epic battle with possessed animatronic mascots that roam the halls. To survive, he must fight his way through each of them.

2. Fear Street Trilogy

Premiered in July, it’s three movies for the price of one! This Netflix original horror trilogy is based on R.L. Stine’s best-selling horror series of the same name, follows a group of teens in the small town of Shadyside who discover the town’s sinister past might be the reason for current, terrifying events.

Fear Street Part One talks about a teen and her friends taking on an evil force. The latter plagued their notorious town for centuries after a series of brutal slayings. Meanwhile, Fear Street Part Two is about a summer of fun that turns into a gruesome fight for survival. This is because a killer terrorizes Camp Nightwing in the cursed town of Shadyside. Lastly, the third film takes us back to 1666, when a colonial town is gripped by a witch hunt that has deadly consequences for centuries to come, while teenagers in 1994 try to put an end to their town’s curse before it is too late.

3. A Quiet Place Part II

If a sequel does its job well, it will build on the strengths of the first film while also expanding the idea in new and exciting ways. Thanks to writer-director John Krasinski and the Quiet Place II cast, Emily Blunt, the second film succeeds admirably in this regard. What we loved about A Quiet Place II is its fascinating new plot point to keep the saga going. Instead of hiding out at their farmhouse, the Abbott Family realizes they’ll have to take the road in search of a more secure place to live this time. Aliens with heightened senses of hearing wander the countryside in search of fresh prey.

Surely, you wouldn’t want to miss the thrill. That’s why it is important to ensure you have a fast internet connection for no buffering moments.

4. Last Night in Soho

In acclaimed director, Edgar Wright’s psychological horror film, Eloise (Thomasin McKenzie), an aspiring fashion designer, is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s where she encounters a dazzling wannabe singer, Sandie (Anya Taylor Joy). But the glamour is not all it appears to be and the dreams of the past start to crack and splinter into something far darker. The cast also includes Matt Smith and Jessie Mei Li.

5. Wrong Turn

This movie rebooted the Wrong Turn film franchise and focuses on a group of hikers who take a—you guessed it—the wrong turn while hiking the Appalachian Trail and find themselves under attack by the mountain community who lives there. The cast includes Charlotte Vega, Adain Bradley, Emma Dumont, Dylan McTee, Daisy Head, Bill Sage, and Matthew Modine.

6. Werewolves Within

Finn (Sam Richardson) and Cecily (Milana Vayntrub) are forest rangers and postal workers who must protect the peace and find the truth behind a mysterious beast that has begun terrorizing the neighborhood.

7. The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It

It takes some skill to keep a franchise feeling fresh when you’re working within a franchise that includes evil nuns, killer dolls, and numerous demonic possessions, but Conjuring 3 handles the assignment well enough. This time around our ghost-chasers are working on a case in which an unlikely murderer blames the devil for his crimes.

8. Malignant

This new film is the latest from Insidious and The Conjuring director James Wan. A pregnant woman begins seeing visions of gory deaths as they’re committed in real life. And this is all by a mysterious disfigured man named Gabriel. While investigating the murders, she discovers that Gabriel is a part of her past, and may be coming for her.

9. Spiral: From the Book of Saw

If gore and some more gore is your horror movie vibe, may we present the latest (and, 9th!!) film in the Saw franchise: Spiral. Though the original Jigsaw killer (you know, a creepy-voice man with a creepy clown puppet who makes victims solve near-impossible death puzzles to prove their worth) has apparently died, a copycat is on the loose. It’s up to Detective Zeke Bank (Chris Rock) to solve the puzzle and save lives.

10. Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City

Based on the long-running Resident Evil video game series, this movie will serve as a reboot to the film franchise of the same name. Not much else is known about the plot right now though.

11. The Amusement Park

Recently discovered and restored 46 years after its completion by the George A. Romero Foundation and produced by Suzanne Desrocher-Romero, The Amusement Park stars Martin’s Lincoln Maazel as an elderly man who finds himself disoriented and increasingly isolated as the pains, tragedies, and humiliations of aging in America are manifested through roller coasters and chaotic crowds. Commissioned by the Lutheran Society, the film is perhaps Romero’s wildest and most imaginative movie, an allegory about the nightmarish realities of growing older, and is an alluring snapshot of the filmmaker’s early artistic capacity and style and would go on to inform his ensuing filmography. The “lost” film was restored in 4k by IndieCollect in New York City.

12. Halloween Kills

The movie, starring Jamie Lee Curtis, takes place during Halloween 2018 and follows Laurie Strode and her family as they work with, well anyone who they can to rise up against Michael Myers.

13. Honeydew

Admittedly, Texas Chainsaw Massacre is one of the legendary horror movies ever made that we can’t help but compare to every slasher horror movie made in the succeeding years. In spite of the fact that it’s overlong and overly familiar, this one manages to be both viscerally powerful and memorable in a disturbing way. The premise of Honeydew is similar to that of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Wrong Turn franchises: clueless city dwellers inadvertently stumble across a small, distressing community deep in the woods. Despite this, the film’s creepiest moments are undeniably effective, one of which involves an improbably bonkers cameo by Lena Dunham (who plays herself).

14. Come True

18-year-old Sarah (Julia Sarah Stone) enrolls in a university sleep research to get rid of her nightmares, but she quickly finds she’s become a conduit for a terrifying new discovery. Anthony Scott Burns (Our House) returns with a new piece of science fiction that plays with the reader’s perceptions of reality by twisting dreams and making horrors come true. COME TRUE is a memorable cinematic fantasy that’s well worth the time and effort it takes to fully appreciate it.

15. The Night House

Recent widow Beth, played by Rebecca Hall, is forced to cope with the sudden loss of her beloved husband at the lakeside home he constructed for her. She does her best to maintain her composure, but the dreams don’t let her. Visions of a ghostly apparition in the house appealing to her frighten her. On the contrary, she begins sifting through her husband’s stuff, desperate for information. Secrets weird and unpleasant await her, which she intends to uncover.

16. Jakob’s Wife

A small-town minister’s wife, Anne has felt that her life has shrunk in the last 30 years. In the wake of a fortuitous encounter with “The Master,” she has a newfound feeling of confidence and a hunger for adventure. Because of the growing number of victims, Jakob understands that he will have to battle for the wife he took for granted as Anne becomes increasingly divided between her new, alluring world and her old one.

17. Till Death

Emma, played by Megan Fox, wakes up chained to her deceased husband after a beautiful evening in their isolated lakehouse. She is stranded in the midst of winter and must fend off hired assassins in order to save herself from her husband’s deranged scheme.

18. Army of the Death

It follows a zombie epidemic that has left Las Vegas in ruins and cut off from the rest of the world, directed by Zack Snyder (300, Zack Snyder’s Justice League). Bly Tanaka (Hiroyuki Sanada) approaches Scott Ward (Dave Bautista), a displaced Vegas resident and former zombie war hero, with the ultimate offer: The government will destroy the city in 32 hours if you don’t get the $200 million from a vault beneath the quarantine zone.
